Thoughts: You can see God with your eyes shut. God is holy and pure. The more we grow like Him, the more we become like Him. But it is not purity just in action or on the exterior. It is purity in heart that counts. Jesus was all about the heart. He wasn't about just obeying rules or looking good on the outside. In some ways, this beatitude captures the essence of the teachings of Jesus. He desires our hearts. He desires our hearts not to be fake. He doesn't want us to wear masks. The glasses that we must put on to see God are a sincere heart. We are not able to obtain a pure heart by ourselves. It is God's grace that invites us into purity of heart. It is God's grace that makes our hearts pure. It is God's grace that enables us to see God.
Prayer: Help me, Lord to see you. Help me, enable me to have a pure heart.
