Prayers toward the Temple

32“As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm—when they come and pray toward this temple, 33then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name. (2 Chronicles 6)

Thoughts: Solomon in his prayer of dedication is asking God to listen when people pray.  He asks God to listen when they are defeated in battle, or when they face a natural disaster or famine and pray toward the Temple.  He points out that no building can hold God Almighty, but His presence is particularly concentrated in this place.  In the paragraph above, Solomon prays that God would hear the prayers of foreign pilgrims to this place.
We have been to Israel twice.  The surprising thing of both trips was the spiritual experience felt at the western (wailing) wall.- which was the last remnant- wall of the Temple.  Some of the stones at the bottom were from Solomon's Temple.   We have had every major prayer prayed here answered.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you hear our prayers and keep your promises.
