22When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. 23They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life.” And the disciples were filled with grief. (Matthew 17:22-23)
Thoughts: Jesus had many times predicted his death. He did not want the disciples to be surprised. He also wanted them to have hope in the midst of his death - so he prophecies His own resurrection. In Jesus, there is always hope. Jesus gave an elegy- or a lament of His death- but He also tinged it with a silver lining of hope. Even death cannot snuff Him out.
Prayer: Lord, help me to always have hope in you.
