1/4/13- Glorify the Lord with Me

Glorify the Lord with me;
    let us exalt his name together. (Psalm 34:3)

Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you. (Psalm 63:3)

Thoughts: The Psalms call us to glorify God.  The latter calls us to honor God because His love is more meaningful, lasts longer than life itself.  He is worthy of our glory.  His love elicits a desire to honor Him, reflect His greatness back to Him, and give Him His worth (worship is from an old English "worthyship.").
      The first Psalm calls us to come together to glorify God.  There is something about coming together in worship that is synchronistic.  Just like two strands of rope woven together are able to lift more than two strands apart, so when we worship God together there is a brighter glow, a fuller sound, a stronger presence to worship.  Christ said that when two or three come together in His name He is there.  So, glorify God together because He is worthy of it.  We are created, in fact to glorify and enjoy Him.

Prayer: May my lips, my life, my time glorify you.
