21When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah. 22After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. (Genesis 5)
Hebrews 11:5- By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: "He could not be found, because God had taken him away." For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
Thoughts: Enoch is a witness of how good and sweet fellowship with God can get. Enoch pleased God because he walked faithfully with Him- trying to please Him and seeking His will and presence in His life. Enoch's faithful walk with God apparently began after the birth of his son Methusaleh. Sometimes, having a child can inspire you to walk with God. When Methusaleh became an adult, Enoch didn't stop walking with God but continued growing even closer to the Lord. Enoch did not see death because of his faithful walk. The witness is to please God and then God wishes to have fellowship with you.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for those who show me that faithful walk with you is possible and has blessings.
