Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever amen. (Mt. 6:13)
Thoughts: Some earlier manuscripts do not have this phrase in Matthew 6. But clearly it is a very early saying of the church and a part of the way early Christians remembered the prayer taught by our Lord. Kingdom has to do with His rule; power has to do with the might of His rule; Glory has to do with the majesty of His rule. He is the King to whom we owe allegiance and ask for blessings. He is the King who is not just a figurehead- but a powerful King- the King of kings. His power is great enough to hear our requests and answer them. As Google is able to see throughout all the earth on Google maps- so God can see. But more than just see, God can listen, care about us as individuals (we are not just a computer number to Him- He made us). God can also say yes or no to our prayers-blessing us, guiding us, rebuking us, strengthening us, protecting us. When God answers prayer He glorifies Himself.
So listen...Listen to the majesty, the glory of God in answering prayers. Understand that all points to Him, owes its existence to Him, and will ultimately bow before Him. We will too. Jesus wants us to listen and understand a bit of the majesty, power, and glory of God.
Prayer: Lord, How majestic is your name in all the earth. Your glory is above the heavens and your kingdom rules over all.
