19“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also...
24“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. (Mt. 6)
Thoughts: The One who has perspective about heaven and earth invites us to invest in what will last. Here on this earth our treasure not only can be, but it will be taken away. No one takes it with them. Where we invest ourselves- heaven or earth will also be where our treasure lies. Many believers in the West believe you can indeed serve God and money- but this is an illusion. Our treasure can become our master. If our treasure is God in heaven, then we are focused on a treasure that will last. What you love becomes your treasure and perhaps your God.
An architect was digging some old ruins of a city suddenly destroyed by earthquake. It was obvious that the skeleton had rushed back to the shopping mall and had money in his hand when he died. The archaeologist believed the man had originally escaped and had gone back to the store to get more money. If he had left his money, his life- which is more valuable, would have been saved.

Prayer: Lord let me value you and your love above all things.
