To be a follower means to listen

20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)

Thoughts: To make someone a disciple of Jesus means to follow the teachings of Jesus.  It makes no sense to say that we are disciples of Jesus when we do not nor do we intend to follow him.  Yet to follow Christ also means to deny ourselves as He denied heaven, and taking up our cross as He took up His.  When we follow Him and listen to Him, He is with us.  When we follow Him and His teachings He is with us wherever we go whenever we follow.  There is nowhere we go that He is not there.
