6He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. (John 21:6)
Thoughts: This was a reminder of the call of Jesus at the beginning to witness for Him (Luke 5:1-10). At that time Jesus told them where to find the fish; they did so and then he called to them to follow him and fish for people. But after the resurrection Jesus intensified His call to His disciples to witness. His call here is to listen to Him to find a fruitful witness of fishing for people. God shows us where to bear fruit. If God calls you to cast your nets on the other side- to try a new way- do it in faith. Do it in faith that, even though you fished all night, God will provide fruit.
Prayer: Lord, help me to witness for you and listen to you.
