22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3)
Thoughts: This is good advice about work. If we can substitute "employees" for "slaves" and "bosses" for "masters" we would apply this to our situation better. If we work for God, we do not work only when someone is looking ,and then leave the minute they leave. If we work for God, we do not do work just to make us look good, but with a transparency and love for God. We serve Christ when we work for His glory- no matter what we do- whether doctor or student or hamburger flipper. Whatever we do, we are called to put our all into it. Others should be inspired to know the Lord who motivates us to do well and to answer the call we have been given.
Prayer- Lord, give me grace to work hard for you. strengthen the work of my hands and establish it.
