11With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. 12We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1)
Thoughts: "With this in mine" refers to the fact that the Thessalonians are included in the church and excluded from judgment. The prayer Paul makes for the Thessalonians is a good prayer for any believer. It is a prayer that they may be made worthy of the calling. God called them to Himself, and now Paul prays that they could fulfill the purpose. The purpose is that they would glorify God- bearing fruit for Him by doing good. We are not just to be lights of faith- but we are to be lights of goodness in the midst of evil. We fulfill our calling-not in our own strength but by God's grace- often in answer to prayer- by making a difference for God - going out of our way to serve and to honor God.
Prayer: Lord, help me fulfill my calling by honoring you doing good deeds.
