42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. (1 Corinthians 15:42-44)
Thoughts: Our bodies are fragile now, but in heaven they will be eternal. Our body, as Paul said earlier, is like a seed now- but the weaknesses of the body will be gone later. There will be no getting weary or tired. Many get sad or depressed as they give out of energy- but in heaven this will not be the case. There will be no need for sleep to replenish the body and refresh the brain. There is no record of the resurrected Jesus complaining of being hurt, tired, weary, or sleepy (whereas the earthly Jesus had all those things). Remember, look at Jesus' risen body if you want to find out what ours will be like (1 John 3:2). There will be no more tears, or sorrow, or mourning. There will be no hiding things- everything will be revealed. There will be no sin- so there is no need to hide things (Matthew 10:27). Communication will be clear. We got a taste of this in the Pentecost event where everyone understood each other. As you get sick or become weary, remember your hope.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for the hope that is ours of a new body. Now we are fragile and hurting- but we look forward to the day when we will be made whole.
