12/18- Hope in His Seeing and Caring

Tuesday- 12/18- Ps. 33:18- But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,

Thought: So God sees you who believe Him, listen to Him, respect Him and hold Him in awe.  Part of having faith is putting our hope in God- that He will care for us and bless us.   There are some who watch children who have so many to watch and are unable to pay attention.  But a loving mother has her eyes on her child that she loves.   God has His eye on His children who put their hope in Him.  In several other passages it speaks of God caring for us as “the apple of his eye” (Dt. 32:10; Ps. 17:8; Pr. 7:2; Zech. 2:8).  Those who hope in Him are precious to Him- and He will not neglect or ignore those who put their trust and hope in Him.
How is it possible for God to see all, hear all prayers, and respond?  Today this is much clearer than just a few years ago.  Today you can go on google earth and see just about anywhere- and many places see an image of the street.  Intelligence officials can see in real time.  We have listening devices and machines that help us to see and hear right through barriers (like walls and insulation).  If we had enough intelligence and enough power (or even a big enough computer) we could see and hear just about everything.  If we were strong enough and fast enough we could respond.  If we, with our limited intelligence can do this- cannot God?  God is not dependent on machines but is much more intelligent, powerful, and His presence is everywhere.  But more than that- just as God is more capable of intelligence than we, He is also more capable in love than we. He is the Master Gardener who cares about each plant.  He is the Master Builder who cares about each detail.  He is the Creator who doesn't just make us and leave- but cares for His Creation. We are not alone- He sees, understands, and cares. This is why Christmas is so important- He came to show us He is there and He cares.

Prayer: In you, O Lord, I put my hope.  Your love is unfailing.  Your care is always there for me, and so you are worthy of my hope.

Application: Name one thing you wish to do today because God Is seeing you doing it.
Look at this link on google street view and look up your street.

Hope is a candle A light in the window
Showing the way for A heart to come home
Hope is a Savior Who was born in the manger
Sent down from Heaven To rescue our hearts
Our Christmas hope.
