Heidelberg 33 & 34

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (1 Cor. 6:19-20)

Thoughts: These two Catechism questions explore two titles of Christ- the "Only begotten Son" and "our Lord."  Christ is eternally begotten not made or created.  He is of the same essence as the Father.  He is Lord because He has bought us and we are His.

Q & A 33
Q. Why is he called God’s “only begotten Son” when we also are God’s children?
A. Because Christ alone is the eternal, natural Son of God.We, however, are adopted children of God— adopted by grace through Christ.2
Q & A 34
Q. Why do you call him “our Lord”? A. Because— not with gold or silver, but with his precious blood—1he has set us free from sin and from the tyranny of the devil, and has bought us, body and soul, to be his very own.3
