“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. (Proverbs 31:27-31)
Thoughts: Charm alas is deceptive. People may fool you on the outside as to the kind of person they really are on the inside. Men like to be charmed and flattered, but it is not a healthy desire. Beauty is fleeting. Men like beauty as well, but if we could look into the magical glass and contrast a beautiful young woman with an older beauty it is quite a contrast (see Elizabeth Taylor below). What we really want is someone who will have a heart full of love and grace- beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. An excellent woman does noble things not ignoble, animal-like things. This Mother's Day- give thanks for the noble women in your life.
Prayer: Lord, give me your eyes to value what will last and is noble. Thank you for the excellent women you have put in my life.
(Elizabeth Taylor young and old- even those considered most beautiful have their beauty fleeting).
