Passing the Faith On

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. (2 Timothy 2:2)


Thoughts: In this passage, Paul emphasizes that we are to pass the faith on.
There are several generations of people passing the faith on. 
1. Paul
2. Timothy (The things YOU have heard ME say)
3. Timothy's converts- (entrust to reliable men)
4. Timothy's grandconverts, Paul's great-grandconverts (who are able to teach OTHERS). 

The faith is meant to be shared. This is a key part of discipleship.  Jesus also was wanting his followers to make disciples.  He said, "Go into all the world and make disciples, teaching them whatsoever I have commanded you."  He was also asking his disciples to make disciples who would be taught to make other disciples.  

Prayer: Lord, help me to do my part to pass the faith on to the next generation.
