But Judah shall abide for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. (Joel 3:20)
Thoughts: God's promises are not to be taken lightly. The promised land is inhabited again with the people tied to it by the promise of God. This passage (Joel 3) speaks of the enemies of God teaming up against them. Yet, God promises they will keep the land and come back to it from generation to generation. God can make promises like that because 1) He lives from generation to generation; 2) He is able to keep the promises He makes because He is Almighty God. Because God's promises are eternally true, His relevance and importance is eternally valid. In fact, His relevance is all that matters. The question is not whether God is relevant to us- but whether we are relevant to God? Until we get that right, we have everything else wrong.
Prayer: Lord, thank you that your truth endures forever. The grass withers and the flowers fade, but your Word- your promise is true eternally- from generation to generation.
