Ephesians 4

25Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. 26“In your anger do not sin”d : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold. 28Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. (Ephesians 4)

Thoughts: Ephesians 4 says a lot about how to get along with others.  We are called to speak truthfully and transparently with our neighbors.  Along with that is advice on how to handle anger.  Anger will come- but we are called to limit it by not allowing it to turn to bitterness or sin in our hearts or actions. There is also a time restraint for anger- it is when the sun goes down.  We will not sleep well if we harbor anger and do not resolve anything.  Paul also elevates work in contrast to stealing.  Stealing disrespects and uses another persons effort, intelligence for selfish ends.  The reason for work is not just for eating but also for sharing with others.  The overall idea is to be truthful and loving.

Prayer: Help me, Lord, to be truthful and loving to those around me.
