11/2-Communion of the Saints- Kirkin

11/2- Sunday (New Theme: COMMUNION OF THE SAINTS- You have finished the book) Psalm 133:1-3 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
2It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe.
3It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

Bonhoeffer: “Reconciled to God and men, Christians desire to receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ.   It is the command of Jesus that none should come to the altar with a heart that is unreconciled to his brother.”

Thoughts: Communion is a sign of the communion of the saints.  It is not just a ritual it is a blessing.  It is a visible sign of God’s invisible love.  Today we will have tartans waving, bagpipes blowing, great singing, and wonderful food.  But the unity of the church despite the different colors of banners the different perspectives is more beautiful than all.  The joy of the church is the joy of the Lord.   The communion with God and with each other is the greatest blessing of the day.

Prayer: Lord, may your love flow from me to others.  Give me grace to be united with you and with others in communion today.

PS- Don't forget to set your clocks back before  you go to sleep 11/1!
