11/26/14- terrible desturcion

12I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. (Rev. 6)

The sixth seal's opening is a terrible war.  Perhaps if you lived in the first century a nuclear war could be conceived in these words.  In a nuclear war, the earth rumbles, the sky turns black and red, and it appears the stars flee from the sky. This is an illustration- even if we do not believe it is nuclear war- of terrible destruction.  Such destruction could only be imagined in the first century but it is a reality today.  These verses remind us that even the worst kind of destruction in human history is not out of the Lord's hands.

Here is a short video of Tsar nuclear bomb going off- illustrating the sky receding like a scroll and land being removed from its place.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjnm3V0xYjI
