They called him Lord- but He did not know them

10“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
11“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
12“But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
13“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. (Matthew 25:10-13)

Thoughts: You might think that the bridegroom would still welcome the attendants for the wedding.  But because they failed- they slept through the wedding- they were left outside.  They called to their Lord, but he said he does not know them.  This is a very very sad cry.  They want to get in, but they were not faithful.  They know who the Lord is, but they were not faithful, and that alienated them.

Prayer: Lord, let me be faithful to you not wavering or giving out of energy.
