Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come... 5and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, (Revelation 1:4,5)
Thoughts: Part of learning Christ is learning what did he do? Jesus fulfilled in the ultimate way the key offices of prophet, priest, and king. He is the faithful witness- meaning He speaks on behalf of God, and He speaks faithfully and truthfully. He did not waiver in His speaking the truth.
He is the priest who frees s from our sins by His blood. He makes a sacrifice for us- Himself on the cross. He mediates between God and us by this sacrifice as a good priest would. He is also the King of kings- the "ruler of the kings of the earth." There are those who indicate that if they are elected all the problems of the world will be solved. But Jesus is the ruler of the kings. Christ's purposes will be achieved. His will will be done.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your great work. Thank you that you speak to us, mediate for us, and rule for us. Give me grace to trust in you.
