10Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
13I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:10-13)
Thoughts: Christ is called "the son of Man" and "the Son of God." These are not two antithetical titles. Jesus can be both at the same time. But they tell us about Jesus.
He is the Son of Man. He came down to us, suffered for us, knows what it is like to hurt. He understands us.
He is the Son of God. He is the essence of God- the exact representation of His being on earth. We see God when we see Jesus. He is one being in two substances- both of the essence of man and of the essence of God. Jesus, the God-man, is able to sympathize but because He is God can do more than just sympathize. He is the all loving and all powerful God. As such, we can pray to Him and trust in Him.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are both God amd Man. Thank you that you understand, but also can help. Have mercy on us.
