Not Knowing Our Role

15Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 1 Corinthians 12:15-19

Thoughts: Not only does this passage tell us that everyone has a part to play, but that even if we do not know we have a part to play, we still play a part.  In our culture we emphasize knowing as controlling.  It is the grace of God that we don't have to know we are useful to be useful and fulfill a purpose.  God arranges us as part of His tapestry.  God has a purpose for us right where we are- whether we realize it or not.  We are all different, and that helps the body in the end. Everyone has a role to play .

Prayer: help me to understand my value does not depend on whether I know my. Laure or if others understand my worth.  My value is found in you my Maker and purpose-giver.
