3/3- Declaring God’s Glory in Helping the Lame- Matthew
15:30,31
30 Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. 31 The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.
Thoughts: Isaiah 40:11 says, "He will carry the lambs in his arms." Jesus helped those who could not carry themselves. He even healed the man who was carried to him by his four friends. Never did Jesus cripple anyone. For those who blame God for crippling, they may want to look more closely at Jesus and how He did the opposite. God can use lameness and God can heal lameness. He asks his followers to help the lame too. So Peter and John said to the lame man, "Silver and gold we do not have- but what we have we give to you- in the name of Jesus- walk!" When Jesus' followers help the lame- they remind people of God's glory in healing others.
Prayer: Lord, thank you that you helped those who could not help themselves. Thank you for helping me when I could not help myself. Help me to be compassionate on those who cannot walk, who do not have wheelchairs, or on those who do.
