10/18/12- The Word Gives Freedom

I will walk about in freedom,
for I have sought out your precepts. (Psalm 119:45)

Thoughts: God's Word is a guardrail on the highway of life. It directs and protects and keeps us out of the ditches. The word "freedom" in this verse means "wide place." One study showed that children without a fence stayed only in the center of the playground, but those who had a fence played to the edge of the fence. God's Word tells us where the boundaries are so we can enjoy the life God has given. Sin often wounds us and restricts us. But God's Word allows us to live a free and abundant life.

Prayer: I am not in control, Lord, but you are. Help me to trust in you and find my freedom in you.
