10/20/12- Fresh Bread of the Word

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. (Jer. 15:16)

(Fresh Bread)

Thoughts (from 40DITW)- The Word of God is fresh like fresh, tasty bread. We have hunger for many things- sports, food, some form of entertainment or show. But we should have a passion for God's Word as we would for our favorite food or event. We want to meditate or chew on the Word and digest it so that it becomes a part of us. It is often the ancient spiritual disciplines that we are missing in our society that refreshes our faith- like reading God's Word and slowly digesting it.

Prayer: May I delight in your Word O Lord this day.
